Video: Snake Breath

Motivate your children to use the power of breath by trying this fun technique where you pretend to be a snake! Follow the directions below and watch the video to practice the snake breath.

  1. First, take a deep breath in through your nose.

  2. Then slowly exhale little by little while making a SSSSSSS sound with your mouth.

  3. Continue to exhale until you run out of breath.

  4. Repeat steps 1-3 and try adding a snake motion with your hands and/or body.

  5. Take a moment to notice how your body feels after this long exhale.

  6. Once you have tried this a few times, make it into a game by challenging others to sustain their exhale with the SSSSS sound as long as possible.

  7. Invent your own types of animal breaths!
